Community Spotlight: Veterans Exploration Therapy
Today is a big day for one of my peers in the industry, so much so that I would like to highlight their incredible success story.
Founded 2022, a Non-Profit 501 (c(3)
My friend Deke Letson and his team at Veteran Expedition Therapy have been doing fantastic work in bringing veterans into the outdoors to rediscover their purpose. Over the last 3 years, since they founded their nonprofit, they have reached over 800 veterans and their corresponding families. With over 40 events, from rock climbing to skydiving to an upcoming dog mushing/racing event, their organization does not seem to be slowing down and anticipates growing in the next few years to reach even more veterans.
They are truly a proof of concept of how the wilderness is not only a source of life for people in search of a new beginning, but also a way to find a path full of meaning. Veteran Exploration Therapy is an organization building a business model for good. And today, they've been recognized by Fox 31 Denver as a moving force in the Colorado community! CONGRATULATIONS!
